「世界地図から進路を選ぶ」という進路指導方針のもと、グローバル高校・中学校グローバルクラスでは、海外大学のアドミッション・オフィサーを招いた大学説明会や、キャンパスビジットを実施しています。各大学の魅力や出願方法、奨学金情報など、進路選択に必要な最新情報に直接触れることができる貴重な機会となっています。昨年度は英ケンブリッジ大学、米プリンストン大学、加トロント大学、豪メルボルン大学という各国の名門大学をはじめ、数々の大学による説明会を実施しました。

今年度も世界各国の様々な大学について学び、世界地図から進路を考える機会を提供しています。

9/15 University of Toronto (Canada)

トロント大学（University of Toronto）は、THE世界大学ランキング2026で世界21位・カナダ国内1位に位置する、カナダを代表する世界トップレベルの研究大学です。人文・社会科学、生命科学、コンピュータサイエンス、工学、ビジネスなど700以上の学部プログラムを有し、世界176の国・地域から学生が集まる国際的な学習環境も大きな特徴です。

説明会では、大学の特徴や学びに加え、奨学金制度、出願要件、アドミッションのタイムライン、ファウンデーションプログラムなど、トロント大学への進学を具体的に考えるうえで重要な情報について詳しくご説明いただきました。
質疑応答では、生徒たちから次々と手が挙がり、「なぜトロント大学は世界的に高い評価を得ているのか」「学生の学業をどのようにサポートしているのか」「自分に合った専攻をどのように決めればよいのか」など、さまざまな質問が寄せられました。大学について知るだけでなく、自身の興味や将来の目標と大学での学びを結びつけ、海外大学進学をより具体的に考える貴重な機会となりました。

 

9/13 ケンブリッジ大学ダウニング・カレッジによる「Cambridge Insight Series: Japan」を開催 (UK)

9月13日（日）、郁文館グローバル高等学校にて、ケンブリッジ大学ダウニング・カレッジによる特別イベント「Cambridge Insight Series: Japan」を開催しました。

当日は、Downing College International ProgrammeよりDr Mengmeng Wang-Purcell氏とMr Edward Willey氏をお迎えし、ケンブリッジ大学ならではの教育や学びについてお話しいただきました。
セッションでは、ケンブリッジ大学のカレッジ制度や少人数指導「Supervision」をはじめ、「大学の面接は何を見るために行われるのか」「なぜSuper-Curricular Study（教科を超えて深く探究する学び）が重要なのか」といったテーマについて解説。さらに、ダウニング・カレッジが提供する「Downing Academic Pathway」についても紹介いただきました。

単なる大学紹介にとどまらず、世界トップレベルの大学が「どのように学ぶのか」「どのような思考力を大切にしているのか」に触れる貴重な機会となりました。

 

9/10 世界約120大学が集結！「Greater Tokyo University Fair 2026」に参加

9月10日（木）、郁文館グローバル高校の生徒たちが、都内で開催された「Greater Tokyo University Fair 2026」に参加しました。

今回のフェアには、世界各国から約120の大学・カレッジが集結。Grade 9のHonorsクラス全員に加え、Liberal Artsクラスから海外大学への進学を検討している生徒が参加しました。
世界各国の大学が一堂に集まる中、これまで知らなかった大学や新たな学びの選択肢と出会い、「世界のどこで、何を学びたいのか」を考え、自身の進路の可能性を広げる貴重な機会となりました。

 

9/10 アメリカ16大学が来校！「USA UNIVERSITY FAIR 2026」を開催

9月10日（木）、アメリカ各地から16の大学・カレッジの担当者をお招きし、「USA UNIVERSITY FAIR 2026」を開催しました。

各教室に大学ごとのブースが設けられ、生徒たちは3つの教室をローテーションしながら、大学担当者から直接説明を受けました。
生徒たちは興味のある大学の担当者に積極的に質問しながら、それぞれの大学の特徴や学びについて理解を深めていました。パンフレットやWebサイトだけでは分からない「リアルな大学の魅力」に触れ、現地の大学担当者と直接コミュニケーションを取ることができる貴重な機会となりました。
「世界のどこで、何を学びたいか」を考える
今回の大学フェアの目的は、単に海外大学の情報を得ることだけではありません。
高校1年生という早い段階から多様な大学や学問分野に触れることで、「どの大学に行くか」だけではなく、「世界のどこで、何を学び、将来何を実現したいのか」を考え、自分自身の進路の可能性を広げていくことを大切にしています。
まだ具体的な進路が決まっていない生徒にとっても、さまざまな選択肢を知ることで、「海外大学への進学」がより身近で具体的な選択肢となる時間になったのではないでしょうか。

7/7 国際基督教大学（ICU）・Temple University Japan Campus

高校1年生の校外学習として、Liberal Artsクラスは国際基督教大学（ICU）を、HonorsクラスはTemple University, Japan Campus（TUJ）を訪問し、大学での学びや学生生活を体験しました。実際のキャンパスを訪れ、大学生や教職員との交流を通して、日本国内での国際的な進路について考える貴重な機会となりました。

国際基督教大学（ICU）は、日本を代表するリベラルアーツ大学の一つです。少人数教育と学際的な学びを特徴とし、多様な価値観を尊重する国際色豊かな教育環境の中で、世界で活躍する人材を数多く輩出しています。
当日は大学概要の説明に加え、キャンパスツアーやワークショップを実施。さらに、ICUの学生との交流では、本校で取り組んでいる個人研究（Independent Research）のテーマについて意見交換を行いました。大学生から研究の進め方やテーマ設定についてアドバイスを受け、生徒たちは新たな視点や気づきを得ることができました。
高校卒業後の進路を具体的にイメージするとともに、「大学で何を学びたいのか」「社会でどのような課題を解決したいのか」を改めて考える有意義な時間となりました。

 

Temple University, Japan Campus（TUJ）は、アメリカ・フィラデルフィアに本校を置くTemple Universityの日本校です。アメリカの大学教育を日本にいながら受けられる数少ない大学であり、多国籍の学生が学ぶ国際的なキャンパスとして知られています。
プログラムでは、大学スタッフによるオリエンテーションの後、キャンパスツアーを実施。その後は実際の大学の授業を見学し、ディスカッションを中心としたアメリカ型の授業や、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ学生が学ぶ教育環境を体験しました。最後には振り返りセッションを行い、大学で感じたことや今後の目標について共有しました。
生徒たちは「大学で学ぶこと」の意味をより具体的に捉え、自身の進路目標や日々の学習への意欲を高める機会となりました。

 

6/12 EHL Hospitality Business School (Switzerland)

EHL Hospitality Business Schoolは、ホスピタリティ分野で世界最高峰の教育機関として知られ、ホテル経営だけでなく、ビジネス、マーケティング、起業、ラグジュアリーブランドマネジメントなど幅広い分野で高い評価を受けています。説明会では、実践的なカリキュラムや世界各国でのインターンシップ、卒業後のキャリアパスについてご紹介いただきました。生徒たちは、ホスピタリティを「サービス業」ではなく「グローバルビジネス」として捉える新たな視点を得るとともに、世界を舞台に活躍するための多様な進路について理解を深める機会となりました。

 

6/11 The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong)

香港科技大学（HKUST）は、アジアを代表する研究型大学の一つであり、工学、ビジネス、データサイエンス、AI分野を中心に世界トップレベルの教育・研究を行っています。説明会では、大学の教育理念や学部・専攻の特色に加え、香港という国際都市で学ぶ魅力や、世界中から集まる学生との学びについてご紹介いただきました。生徒たちは、アジアのトップ大学という新たな進学の選択肢を知るとともに、グローバル社会で求められるイノベーションやリーダーシップについて理解を深める貴重な機会となりました。

 

5/23 Arizona State University (USA)

Arizona State University（ASU）は、全米有数のイノベーション大学として知られ、起業教育や学際的な学び、産学連携などを強みとする世界的な研究大学です。説明会では、「Best-Fit University（自分に合った大学）」という考え方をテーマに、大学ランキングだけではなく、自身の興味・関心や学びたい分野、学習スタイル、将来の目標に合った進路を選択することの重要性についてご講演いただきました。また、ASUの幅広い専攻分野や革新的な教育プログラム、充実した学生サポートについてもご紹介いただき、生徒たちにとってアメリカ大学進学をより具体的にイメージし、自らの進路を主体的に考える貴重な機会となりました。

 

4/23 University of Tsukuba, Malaysia (Malaysia)

筑波大学マレーシア校は、日本の国立大学として初めて海外に設置された拠点であり、自然科学・人文科学・社会科学を横断した学際的な教育と、データサイエンスを活用した課題解決型学習を特徴としています。少人数での密度の高い教育や、多国籍な学生との協働を通じて、多様な価値観に触れられる点も大きな魅力です。生徒たちは「日本の大学でありながら海外で学ぶ」という進路の可能性を理解し、自らの将来について主体的に考える貴重な機会となりました。

 

4/17 The University of Sydney (Australia)

シドニー大学は、世界大学ランキングでも常に上位に位置するオーストラリアの名門大学であり、医学・ビジネス・法学分野を中心に高い評価を受けています。説明会では、入学要件や学部構成に加え、現地での学生生活やキャリア形成について具体的な説明が行われました。特に、課外活動やインターンシップを通じて社会と接続する実践的な学びの重要性が強調され、生徒たちにとって「海外で学ぶ意義」を深く考える機会となりました。

At Global High School, we encourage students to explore their academic pathways from a global perspective. As part of our university guidance program, we regularly invite admissions representatives from leading institutions in Japan and abroad to host on-campus information sessions. These sessions provide students with valuable opportunities to gain first-hand insights into the differences between universities, each institution’s unique strengths, application procedures, and scholarship opportunities—equipping them with the latest information needed to make informed decisions about their future. Last year, we hosted sessions featuring some of the world’s top universities, including University of Cambridge, Princeton University, University of Toronto, and University of Melbourne, as well as a number of other institutions ranked among the top in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

This year as well, we are welcoming universities from all over the world to hold information sessions for our students.

9/15 University of Toronto (Canada)

The University of Toronto is one of Canada’s leading research universities, ranked 21st in the world and 1st in Canada in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026. With more than 700 undergraduate programs, it offers a diverse and highly international learning environment.

During the session, students learned about academic programs, scholarships, admission requirements, the application timeline, and the foundation program.
The Q&A was especially lively, with students asking about U of T’s global reputation, academic support, and how to choose the right major.

It was a valuable opportunity to learn more about the university and think more concretely about studying abroad.

9/10 Exploring Global Opportunities at the Greater Tokyo University Fair 2026

On September 10, students from Ikubunkan Global High School participated in the “Greater Tokyo University Fair 2026,” held in Tokyo.

The fair brought together approximately 120 universities and colleges from around the world. All Grade 9 Honors students, along with Liberal Arts students considering applying to universities abroad, participated in the event.
With universities from across the globe gathered in one place, students had the opportunity to discover new institutions and academic possibilities. It was a valuable experience that encouraged them to think about “where in the world they want to study and what they want to learn,” while broadening their possibilities for the future.

9/10 USA UNIVERSITY FAIR 2026: 16 U.S. Universities Visit Ikubunkan Global High School

On September 10, Ikubunkan Global High School hosted the “USA UNIVERSITY FAIR 2026,” welcoming representatives from 16 universities and colleges across the United States.

Students visited university booths in three classrooms and spoke directly with university representatives. They actively asked questions and learned about each university’s unique programs and opportunities. It was a valuable chance to discover what universities are really like beyond websites and brochures.
Where in the world do I want to study? What do I want to learn?
The fair was not just about gathering information. By exploring different universities and fields of study from an early stage, students were encouraged to think beyond “Which university should I attend?” and consider what they want to study, where they want to study, and what they hope to achieve in the future.
For students who are still exploring their options, the fair also helped make studying abroad a more realistic and exciting possibility.

7/7 International Christian University & Temple University Japan Campus

Grade 10 students visited university campuses as part of their off-campus learning program.
The Liberal Arts class visited International Christian University (ICU), while the Honors class visited Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ).

International Christian University (ICU) is one of Japan’s leading liberal arts universities. Renowned for its interdisciplinary curriculum, small-class education, and diverse international community, ICU provides students with an environment that encourages critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and global perspectives.
During the visit, students attended a university introduction, participated in workshops, toured the campus, and exchanged ideas with ICU students about their individual research projects. These discussions provided valuable feedback on developing research topics and offered students new perspectives on university-level learning.
The experience encouraged students to think more deeply about what they hope to study in the future and how their learning can contribute to solving real-world challenges.

Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) is the Japanese campus of Temple University, a leading public research university based in Philadelphia, USA. As Japan’s oldest and largest American university campus, TUJ offers students the opportunity to earn an American degree while studying in an internationally diverse learning environment.
Students participated in an orientation, campus tour, and classroom observations, experiencing firsthand the discussion-based teaching style and multicultural atmosphere that characterize an American university education. The visit concluded with a reflection session, where students shared their impressions and connected the experience to their future academic goals.

6/12 EHL Hospitality Business School (Switzerland)

EHL Hospitality Business School is recognized as the world’s leading institution for hospitality education. Beyond hotel management, the school is internationally renowned for its programs in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, and luxury brand management.
During the session, students learned about EHL’s practice-oriented curriculum, global internship opportunities, and career pathways after graduation. The presentation also encouraged students to view hospitality not simply as a service industry, but as a global business discipline, broadening their understanding of international career opportunities.

6/11 The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong)

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is one of Asia’s leading research universities, internationally recognized for excellence in engineering, business, artificial intelligence, and data science.
The session introduced HKUST’s educational philosophy, academic programs, and the advantages of studying in Hong Kong—one of Asia’s most dynamic international cities. Students also learned about collaborating with peers from around the world, gaining valuable insight into innovation, leadership, and global opportunities at one of Asia’s top universities.

5/23 Arizona State University (USA)

Arizona State University (ASU) is widely recognized as one of the most innovative universities in the United States, known for its entrepreneurship education, interdisciplinary learning, and strong industry partnerships.
The session focused on the concept of finding a “Best-Fit University.” Rather than choosing a university based solely on rankings, students were encouraged to consider their academic interests, learning style, campus environment, and future aspirations when making university decisions.
Students also learned about ASU’s diverse academic programs, innovative educational approach, and comprehensive student support services, making studying in the United States feel more accessible and helping them think more proactively about their own future pathways.

4/23 University of Tsukuba, Malaysia (Malaysia)

The University of Tsukuba, Malaysia is the first overseas campus established by a Japanese national university. It offers interdisciplinary education that integrates the natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences while emphasizing problem-solving through data science.
Students learned about the advantages of its small-class learning environment and the opportunity to study alongside peers from diverse cultural backgrounds. The session introduced a unique pathway that allows students to experience an international education while earning a degree from a Japanese national university, inspiring them to explore new possibilities for their future.

4/17 The University of Sydney (Australia)

The University of Sydney is one of Australia’s leading universities and consistently ranks among the world’s top institutions. It is particularly well known for excellence in medicine, business, and law.
During the session, students learned about admission requirements, academic programs, student life, and career development opportunities. Particular emphasis was placed on experiential learning through extracurricular activities and internships, encouraging students to reflect on the value of studying abroad and the importance of connecting academic learning with real-world experience.
